Whiffs of syrup and pancake mix wafted throughout the hallways as families, lifelong friends and other community members gathered at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City for its annual free Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast.

As community members mingled and enjoyed their meals, volunteers were either serving food or hard at work in the kitchen cooking more food.
