GENEVA, Ohio — After a stellar opening day at the District 10 Class 2A swimming championships, Franklin’s boys and girls swim teams continued to impress on Day 2 with Jordan Stumpf leading the way with a record-breaking performance in the 500 freestyle on Saturday at the Spire Institute.
Stumpf entered the 500 free as the fourth seed, but he moved up a spot to finish third while also dropping more than seven seconds from his seed time to shatter the FHS record in the event with a time of 4:49.47, besting the previous mark of 4:54.51 set by Shawn Frederick in 1998.
Former Keystone High School standout Emily Lauer was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Player of the Year after a stellar senior campaign for the Allegheny College women’s basketball team.
