MEADVILLE — Cochranton was hot from beyond the arc, knocking down 12 three-pointers while rolling past Maplewood, 69-39, at Meadville High School on Tuesday night in the opening round of the District 10 Class 2A boys basketball playoffs.
The sixth-seeded Cardinals (14-9) made sure to keep the 11th-seeded Tigers in check throughout, soaring out to a 20-12 lead after one quarter before extending it to 34-21 at the half. A 19-8 third stanza would put the game out of reach and earn Cochranton a spot in the quarterfinals, where it will square off against third-seeded Lakeview on Friday at a site and time to be determined.
