The attempted abduction of a young girl in Oil City that was reported Thursday has been now ruled a false alarm, according to a Monday press release from Oil City police.

Police said that during their investigation of the incident, officers were able to view video footage that showed the girl’s entire walk, from when she left her house to when she arrived at school.
