Business Review: High Above 80 expects busy 2025

High Above 80 is looking for a busy 2025. Having gone through some personnel changes this past year, the new crew has been adding more dance and contemporary material to our collection – along with new (to us) songs from our foundational 80s era.

According to Aaron Bolinger (guitar and vocals), “we wanted to dig out more from the ‘Daytime MTV’ genre for inclusion into our 80s shows. And because we do so many campgrounds, festivals and fairs with all-ages audiences, it’s important to bring in more post-2000 songs for those situations too.”

The band has a new bassist (Karl Jamison from Slippery Rock), drummer (Chuck Pranulis from Butler), and female vocalist (Millie Alford from Sharon) on the team. Heidi Murdoch has remained in the multi-instrument (synth, piano, organ, guitar) role, along with providing backing vocals.

The band is gearing up for the fair circuit in 2025, reaching out to community fairs from Erie down to Grove City, over past Clarion and up through Warren in northwestern Pennsylvania. They also have their agent approaching community festivals and other music venues in their nine-county marketing area for shows.

“We’re spending extra time in rehearsals, tightening up the material for what should be an active summer concert series,” says Bolinger. “It’s always a challenge working in new personnel, and particularly when most of what we are doing is new to all the incoming musicians. We got busy in September – and it has been non-stop ever since. With a handful of live shows behind us now, everyone is excited about what comes next.”

For those who support live entertainment and are looking to fill their upcoming events with this regional power-house rock band, contact Mike Lotz at Great Lakes Entertainment, 814-392-3134. High Above 80 fits well in fraternal clubs (Moose, Elks, VFW & etc.), along with either indoor or outdoor events (Open House for businesses, community festivals, Agricultural Fairs, campgrounds, etc.). The band provides its own in-house sound and lighting systems and can handle production for multi-band events, all in one package. Their "events" pages for upcoming shows, along with other information, is avaliable at facebook.com/HighAbove80.
