There are the alpacas — walking down the street, at birthday parties, festivals, church functions and at the river and streams. It doesn’t matter where the alpacas are, people are always excited to see the two beautiful animals owned by Jeanette Demmer Biltz that have lived at 169 East Bissell Avenue for 14-and-a-half years.
When they are not being walked, Copper and Griffin will sometimes come to the front yard fence to meet their curious visitors.
This summer the pair attended a spring and a fall Neighborhood Night Out Festival, a woman’s 70th birthday celebration, a church animal blessing and a children’s youth group at Rockmere Boat Club. They also had a dip in the Allegheny River.
Alpacat Corral also has alpaca manure for sale. It is a very rich manure that does not burn plants. This time of year is an excellent time to spread this fertilizer on a garden. Anyone interested need only bring a small five-gallon pail with them to be filled for a small fee. For more information, call 814-676-2655.
Alpaca fleece is also available in fawn and white; it is sold by the pound.
